San Sebastian is a famous beach resort in the north of Spain with picturesque coastline, vibrant nightlife and amazing Basque gastronomy.
Playa de la Concha is one of the world’s most popular city beaches, ideal for watersports lovers. Rent a surfboard on Zurriola beach or just relax on a cosy lounge chair under your umbrella.
Established as the culinary capital of Spain, San Sebastian features a variety of bars and restaurants serving delicious pintxos (Basque-style tapas), fresh seafood and fine wine. According to Spanish tradition, you should have one tapa and a wine in one bar, then move on to the next bar.
The tree-covered hill standing just across the gulf is called Urgull and has spectacular views over the bay and city. Parte Vieja is the old part of the town where you can mix with the locals and visit some of the city’s most interesting historical attractions.
San Sebastian Airport is located 12 miles east, so it's a short journey into the city itself. Booking.com offers a choice of accommodations ranging from luxury hotels to guest houses, apartments and budget hostels.
The city is pretty and clean. The food is excellent and varied leaning heavily to sea food. It is easy enough to walk around, there is taxi service for some of the attractions not downtown e.g. the stadium. Let me say, however, it is not as inexpensive as other places in Spain. Food can be pricey, especially some of the sampling meals in the restaurants. My Spanish is pretty okay, but, believe me Basque is not at all similar, fortunately, most menus, etc. are written in Spanish, French and English as well. The people are friendly and will work with you.

Beautiful city with amazing beaches, charming architecture, tons of amazing spots for pintxos, and a laid-back vibe. Public buses worked fine and there were taxis readily available during the day, but it's small enough to walk almost anywhere.

Loved San Sebastian and will return.
Loved San Sebastian and will return. Apartment was really well placed for the beach - pity we didn't see there was beach chairs till we were packing to leave. Very spacious and airy and good for drying clothes in the little courtyard - could have done with having some info leaflets about SS. We took a boat to the island and the atmosphere there was amazing - I would definitely recommend!

Beautiful city beside spectacular beaches and scenery.
Beautiful city beside spectacular beaches and scenery. Great shopping, great food and friendly people. I could live there easily! It rains a little more there than other parts of Spain but there's so much going on it doesn't really matter. It's a place you can enjoy no matter the weather.

I loved the fact that there are 3 beaches in the city. And some options for long or short hikes. Also great for running or rollerblading. Apparently famous for surfing. Cycle paths everywhere. Parts of town pedestrianised. Grand buildings, very tidy.

With its interesting history and ease of accessibility San Sebastian is a great place to visit. If you are into surfing there is a great beach.
The best thing that we enjoyed was the food. If you like tapas then multiply that by 10 and enjoy the Basque equivalent called pintxos. There are so many bars serving it on the tourist area but a little bit of exploration will take you to places where the locals eat. We hardly ate a main course but just ordered a variety of pintxos and were never disappointed.
Our stay was for a family birthday celebration with my husband and two adult daughters - the apartment was very comfortable with lots of space, so we had the opportunity to chill out in the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is well equipped for a self catering stay.
We arrived after hours and the communication on how to find the hotel and access the apartment was excellent, very clear and helpful
Superb location right in the heart of old town and on the sea front. Very convenient for bars and restaurants.
Thank you Team SanseBay!
After spending a few weeks in hostels, I needed a place of refuge for a moment. While hotels are not typically in my budget, I needed the alone time and break. This was exactly what I needed; the location was superb, right across the street from the beaches and shops and a beautiful walk into Old Town. The hotel was extremely clean and the room was nice. I also appreciated the laundry service & them holding my bags before and after check out. I would highly recommend and stay again.
The location of this beautiful hotel is fabulous, just a few metres from the promenade and beach and a short walk to the old town. The underground secure parking is excellent and extremely close to the hotel. It is a little expensive though at 29 euros per day . We dropped off our bags at the hotel and the staff explained exactly how to enter the car park. Our room was very comfortable with a beautiful white marble bathroom and excellent shower.
Clean comfortable modern hotel. The location is about 15 minutes walk to Ondaretta Beach. The old town area is a 30/40 minute stroll along the lovely promenade. If you dont want to walk there are plenty of buses on the main road behind the hotel that take you into the city centre in about 10 minutes 3.70 euros return. There are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants in the immediate area. We have booked to stay again later in the year.
We quickly found out after booking tickets to San Sebastian that it was not a cheap city at all for hotels. Pension Ondarra offers excellent value and quality, plus I much prefer to be in this neighborhood where more locals live, but only a 10 minute walk or so to the old town. The check in and access was all really easy, the room was spacious and clean, plus a little terrace to relax on... Would definitely recommend!
The BEST location possible! The hotel has an amazing bar/restaurant looking over the ocean, which is hard to find in San Sebastián. The room was beautifully decorated and perfect for what we needed. They even had towels we could take down to the beach. The front desk staff were so helpful giving us dinner recommendations and helping us book a taxi to the airport. We couldn’t have found a better hotel to stay at!
Myself and my partner travelled to San Sebastian for a long weekend and I planned to propose to her there. Hotel Arbaso were incredibly helpful in planning the whole weekend for us and really made it special for us. The hotel is beautifully finished, with a fabulous restaurant. Location in fantastic and all the staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly. Can't wait to visit again, thank you Hotel Arbaso!
We arrived at the hotel 2-hours earlier than the check-in time just to store our luggage, but to our surprise, our room was ready!
This was incredibly helpful for us, as we had flown in from the UK, taken a coach and walked to the hotel, leaving us exhausted.
Additionally, I appreciated the free drink service in the lobby. The location is accessible to the old town.
The hotel is part of a chain, and we have stayed at other hotels in their system elsewhere in Spain. It's a good twenty minute walk to the hear of the old city, but otherwise it was clean and efficient. The front desk staff spoke our language (English), and were happy to provide maps and call cabs and such. The restaurant was quite nice and the food good.
Nice little hotel with views of the ocean. You can walk to downtown and back along the boardwalk -takes30 minutes each way. The restaurant downstairs is good for quick coffee and snacks. Staff are very helpful and showed us where we can park overnight for free.
We enjoyed San Sebastián and that was in large measure thanks to Hotel Ezeiza.
Our room was quite small but the location is great - basically it is in the Old town.
The small/narrow balcony is the good addition.
The parking is near by though it is expensive even with some discount that that provided by
the hotel (it is around 20 euro per day) but any parking in San Sebastian is expensive.
The hotel has a car park and is close to the bus stop for San Sebastián centre. It was clean with plenty of hot water. The staff we met were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good enough to keep anyone going all day. Overall good value for the location. I would stay here again.
Joseph and Gina treated us like family. Gave amazing recommendations and helped with transportation. It is so close to everything. Short walk to beach and to amazing food. I traveled with my young adult children and this was our favorite stop in Spain.
Very good location close to main shopping area and only 10 minute walk San Sebastian's main beach Playa de la Concha. Clean spacious room and decent sized bathroom. Hotel staff very friendly and accomodating to our needs.
Very freindly staff. The Hotel is located right in the city center. Just a quick walk and you are in the old town. Very food breakfast with lot of options and live cooking station. Also the service was nice and freindly.
The most dog friendly hotel in Spain we’ve found. They were welcome in the bar and restaurant. Room was lovely. Street parking was very easy and only €4 for 24 hours!
Will definitely be back next year. Thanks NH
A nice and modern hotel in a quiet neighborhood, 20 min walking distance to the old town of San Sebastian, but with bus facilities at the hotel door :) Friendly staff, we enjoy our stay there.
Centrally located hotel close to the old town and restaurants, with great staff and superb breakfast. The variety at breakfast was incredible! The room was spacious and the bed extra comfy.
