It is a extremely professionally run lodge and highly recommend. The rooms are large/spacious and has a every amenity you could think of. All the staff could not do enough to make you feel more welcome and their hospitality is simply breath taking!!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Makumu for 3 nights (4 days) in November 2019. We absolutely loved our trip and were super happy with Makumu Private Game Lodge. The staff, the service offered, the food and the place itself were all top notch! Our bedroom was beautiful and we had an elephant come visit us at our balcony one night :) We went on 6 different game drives with a maximum of 4 other people in total every time, saw plenty of animals and almost never bumped into any other Jeeps along the way, it didn't feel touristy at all which was great. Our tracker and driver were great + had so many stories and insights to share about the nature and animals! They made the safari super insightful every time! We ate late brunches and dinners with the other guests, staff and owners most nights which were also lovely and so knowledgable about the region. The staff offers perfect service with very sweet personal touches to make you happy and at home! People describe Makumu as a home away from home and that is definitely true: you are very autonomous in the lodge, can grab drinks or food as you please, find your preferred spot to chill, tan and read. It is absolutely beautiful and feels so far away! I would 100% recommend and would love to come back as it really does have a familial feel to it as opposed to a big commercial lodge. We were very sad to leave as we really did fall in love with this little part of the world!

From the moment where we met Louis in the Bush at night to the good bye in front of the lodge 4 days later everything was perfect! Beautiful lodge renovated with taste, gorgeous gardens, comfy luxurious bedrooms, delicious and quite healthy food, lovely staff: very professional and warm, great view on a water hole, millions of small attentions, awesome drives (big 5 in 3 days), magical landscapes, the calm of a private reserve and a great celebration dinner in the Bush under the stars. This was the trip of our life !ArthurSweden
